The Phenolic Mortar is a type of phenolic resin that is usually used to as an anti corrosion material. These mortar offered are considered as one of the resin that is based on the chemical setting process cement. Apart from this they exhibits high resistance to highly corrosive acids such as sulfuric acid that is highly concentrated as 92%. the mortar is basically used in the construction of acid proof brick so that corrosion proof masonry or sheathing can be done to protect various equipments like reaction vessels, storage tanks, pickling tanks & processing equipment. They can also be used in the installation of corrosion proof floors.

The Phenolic Mortar has excellent working properties such as it can easily be applied on the brick using the traditional layer’s techniques. It does not stick at a glance & nor too difficult to handle. They are used in special applications in case of electrical insulation where effective insulating mortar is needed.

Chemical Resistance:

Our offered Phenolic Mortar is completely resistant to all non oxidizing acids, dilute, oxidizing acids and agents, salts & most organic solvents when it is completely set and can bear high temperature upto 170°C. It can also handle sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid higher concentration.
It is to be taken under consideration that phenolic mortar is suitable for use with alkalies, alkaline salts or oxidizing acids with higher concentration or agents that are used with alkalies. For such problems we have modified phenolic cement and is recommended under such situations..

Preparation of Phenolic Mortar:

The preparation of Phenolic Mortar is done keeping some basic steps in consideration. Firstly the combining Phenon Liquid resin & Phenon Powder should be done with utmost care so as to form a workable mixture. The mixing ratio is done by taking 1 part of resin to 3 parts of powder by weight. You can further adjust the ratio quantity slightly due to the factor such as working temperature, conditions, environment. It is also dependent on the mechanic’s preference & the ingredients of fillers that are selected selected along with this. If you are using carbon filler powders then the preparation will be as 1 part of phenon liquid Syrup mixed with 2 parts phenolic powder by weight.

  • The Phenon liquid resin should be thoroughly mixed and stirred and before using it you should keep the liquid resin in a suitable shallow mixing pan.
  • Now you have to add 3 parts of phenon powder. Now mix it thoroughly & quickly so as to form smoother mortar.
  • The cement should be spread out in a thinner layer and should not be more than 3/4” thick. This will easily dissipate all the the heat and will help in the chemical reaction & extends the life cycle..
  • The batch size can is basically dependent on the working speed of the masons that are working and is also dependent on the temperature as large batches have possibilities of rapidly getting stiffed.
  • The new batch should only be made in the fresh pan or you have to make sure that all the older mixture has been used up or removed from the pan before another batch is made.
  • If the temperature is above 30°C, then small batches should me made do not use more than 2 Kgs.
  • When the temperature is below 15°C then make sure that the powder and liquid should warm but it should be below 30°C.

Application of Phenon Cement:

The application of the offered Phenolic Mortar is very easy. You only need to butter the cement on acid proof bricks by traditional using the usual brick layer’s method. Apart from this for bedding & pointing cements is better and for pointing purpose phenon is better and can be applied to the joints of bricks. It can be used during & after the completion of area being constructed. Further utmost care must b taken  as the area of application must be dry & free from construction dirt, cement, plaster & other contaminates which will affect the performance of the product.

Cleaning of Equipment:

  • You must take care of the hands & other equipments as it should be cleaned before beings set. Use alcohol to clean yours hands properly and avoid contact with eyes.

  • Phenon Powder: 50 Kgs. Bag
  • Phenon Liquid Resin: 25 Kgs Drum

Storage Life:

  • The storage life of phenon liquid resin is 3 to 4 months if the container is kept under low temperature in original unopened condition.
  • The Phenon Powder should be kept in cool & dry place. If unopened the powder can be kept for 3 years.
